At least 82 people have been killed and at least two are missing after a gas explosion at a coal mine in northern China on Sunday, officials say.
Surveillance footage aired by state media on Monday showed the moment of the blast from inside Liushenyu Coal Mine in Shanxi province.
The incident is the worst mining disaster in China since 2009, and Chinese President Xi Jinping said no effort must be spared in the search and rescue operation.
The cause of the gas explosion has not yet been revealed, but state media reported that the levels of carbon monoxide in the mine were found to have “exceeded limits”.
