March Madness: Ranking the Elite Eight Matchups

Sixteen teams left. Win or go home. Four wins separate contenders from history.

Welcome to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, which has already delivered its usual chaos. The ninth-seeded Iowa Hawkeyes sent shockwaves through the bracket by knocking off the defending national champion Florida Gators on Sunday, while Texas arrives as an unlikely Cinderella in a Sweet 16 made up entirely of power-conference teams for the second straight year.

The matchups only get better from here, from Dan Hurley’s UConn squad vs. Tom Izzo’s Michigan State team to a Big Ten clash between Iowa and Nebraska with a long-awaited Elite Eight berth on the line.

FOX Sports’ Casey Jacobsen is here to rank the Sweet 16 matchups, from 8-to-1.

    8. Purdue (29-8) vs. Texas (21-14)

Matas Vokietaitis of the Texas Longhorns posts up against Ven-Allen Lubin of NC State. (Photo by Ben Solomon/NCAA Photos via Getty Images)

When: Thursday, March 26 at 7:10 p.m. ET
Where: SAP Center at San Jose (West Region)
    How to Watch: CBS
    Betting Line: Purdue -6.5, OVER/UNDER 148.5

I’m looking forward to this game, but it doesn’t have quite the same draw as the others.  Texas has reached this spot after starting in Dayton as a “First Four” entry. Sophomore center Matas Vokietaitis scored 23 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in a win over BYU, then followed that up with 17 points and nine rebounds in an upset victory over Gonzaga.  Can the 7-foot big man from Lithuania match that production against Purdue’s Trey Kaufman-Renn, who is playing his best basketball of the season right now? Braden Smith struggled in Purdue’s Round of 32 win over Miami (3-12 FG, eight turnovers), so I expect a bounce-back performance from him. I’ll take Purdue moving on here.

    7. Iowa State (29-7) vs. Tennessee (24-11)

Joshua Jefferson #5 of the Iowa State Cyclones attempts a shot as he is guarded by Jalen Celestine #32 of Cincinnati. (Photo by Dylan Buell/Getty Images)

When: Friday, March 27 at 10:10 p.m. ET
Where: United Center, Chicago (Midwest Region)
    How to Watch: TBD/tru TV
    Betting Line: Iowa State -4.5, OVER/UNDER 138.5

The Cyclones were impressive in Round 2, blowing out Kentucky without their best player in senior forward Joshua Jefferson (ankle). Senior guard Tamin Lipsey had his best game of the season with 26 points, 10 assists, and five steals to fill the void. Jefferson is expected to give his ankle a try against Tennessee, which has the nation’s 14th ranked defense in the land. The Vols have a fun offensive combo of senior guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie and freshman forward Nate Ament. I think this game will be low scoring and close. If the Cyclones shoot average or better from 3, they should win.

    6. Michigan (33-3) vs. Alabama (25-9)

Yaxel Lendeborg #23 of the Michigan Wolverines celebrates against the Purdue Boilermakers. (Photo by Michael Reaves/Getty Images)

When: Friday, March 27 at 7:35 p.m. ET
Where: United Center, Chicago (Midwest Region)
    How to Watch: TBD/tru TV
    Betting Line: Michigan -9.5, OVER/UNDER 175.5

Michigan remains my pick to win the national title and the Wolverines’ play against a good St. Louis team only confirmed those feelings. The Wolverines are not a perfect team, but they do not have a glaring weakness. When senior forward Yaxel Lendeborg is hitting 3s and junior center Aday Mara is protecting the rim, opposing teams have to resort to hitting perimeter shots. Well, do you know who the most dangerous 3-point shooting team in the country is? That’s right … The Alabama Crimson Tide. They made 19 3-pointers in a Round of 32 win over Texas Tech, led by senior guard Latrell Wrightsell, who went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc. If Alabama makes 17-plus triples in this game, they’ll probably win. Anything short of that and I’ll take Michigan.

[MEN’S BRACKET: NCAA Tournament Bracket, Leaders & Stats]

    5. UConn (31-5) vs. Michigan State (27-7)

Jeremy Fears Jr. #1 of the Michigan State Spartans looks on during the first half against Michigan. (Photo by Aaron J. Thornton/Getty Images)

When: Friday, March 27 at 9:35 p.m. ET
Where: Capital One Arena, Washington, DC (East Region)
    How to Watch: CBS
    Betting Line: UConn -1.5, OVER/UNDER 136.5

The Huskies haven’t been very impressive over the last month of the season, but do you want to doubt Dan Hurley’s team in the NCAA Tournament? Me neither. Senior forward Alex Karaban saved the best scoring game of his career (28 points) for the team’s Round of 32 win over UCLA, while senior big man Tarris Reed combined for 40 rebounds in two tournament games. On the other hand, the Spartans have the best passing point guard in the nation in redshirt sophomore Jeremy Fears Jr., who has dished out 27 assists in two tournament games. If junior forward Coen Carr can continue to score in this tournament, Michigan State can win this game. If it’s just the “Jeremy Fears Jr. Show,” it won’t be enough. Give me the Spartans in this one.

    4. Arizona (34-2) vs. Arkansas (28-8)

Darius Acuff Jr. of the Arkansas Razorbacks drives to the basket against Latrell Wrightsell Jr. of Alabama. (Photo by Brandon Sumrall/Getty Images)

When: Thursday, March 26 at 9:45 p.m. ET
Where: Capital One Arena, Washington, DC (East Region)
    How to Watch: CBS
    Betting Line: Arizona -7.5, OVER/UNDER 166.5

Arizona has been the most consistent team in the country this season, while Arkansas has been up and down. But, make no mistake about it, the Razorbacks are extremely dangerous. Most of that danger is supplied by their lead guard, freshman Darius Acuff Jr. He has scored 60 points in the first two rounds of the tournament, but Arizona has two perimeter defenders that might be up to the task in senior Jaden Bradley and freshman Ivan Kharchenkov. This is the key to the game: Can Acuff be special? If he can’t, it’s hard for me to imagine any other scenario resulting in an Arkansas win. Arizona is the smart choice here.

[NCAA ODDS: Latest Men’s March Madness Odds, Favorites]

    3. Nebraska (28-6) vs. Iowa (23-12)

Pryce Sandfort of the Nebraska Cornhuskers attempts a shot over Aday Mara of the Michigan Wolverines. (Photo by Aaron J. Thornton/Getty Images)

When: Thursday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET
Where: Toyota Center, Houston (South Region)
    How to Watch: TBS/truTV
    Betting Line: Nebraska -1.5, OVER/UNDER 132.5

This is the most surprising of the Sweet 16 matchups, and that’s what makes it so special. Both fan bases are just happy to be here. Nebraska is the better defensive team (sixth nationally), but Iowa is better on offense (25th nationally). The X-Factor? The Hawkeyes have senior guard Bennett Stirtz. He is the best player in this game and will have the ball in his hands for the majority of Iowa’s possessions. Stirtz went 0-for-9 from 3-point range, and the Hawkeyes still beat No. 1 Florida on Sunday night. Nebraska’s defense will try to keep Stirtz out of the middle and if the Cornhuskers get hot from 3 (especially Pryce Sandfort), I think Nebraska prevails.

    2. Duke (34-2) vs. St. John’s (30-6)

Dylan Darling #0 and Zuby Ejiofor #24 of St. John’s celebrate after Darling scored the game-winning basket against Kansas. (Photo by Jamie Schwaberow/NCAA Photos via Getty Images)

When: Friday, March 27 at 7:10 p.m. ET
Where: Capital One Arena, Washington, DC (East Region)
    How to Watch: CBS
    Betting Line: Duke -6.5, OVER/UNDER 141.5

St. John’s head coach Rick Pitino is 73 years old, while Duke head coach Jon Scheyer is just 38. Let that sink in for a second. Both of these teams are well coached and St. John’s is coming in with a swagger after the team’s buzzer-beating win over Kansas. But Duke’s defense is a lot better than anything the Johnnies have seen all season, especially with center Patrick Ngongba back in the fold. The matchup to watch in this game is at the power forward spot: St. John’s Zuby Ejiofor vs Duke’s Cameron Boozer. They are both asked to do a bit of everything for their respective teams. Fun fact of the day: Duke has won five national titles. In every single one of those seasons, the Blue Devils beat St. John’s either in the regular season or the NCAA Tournament. I’ll take Duke to win here, but I don’t think the Blue Devils will cut down the nets next week.

    1. Houston (30-6) vs. Illinois (26-8)

Keaton Wagler #23 of the Illinois Fighting Illini dribbles during the second half against Nebraska. (Photo by Steven Branscombe/Getty Images)

When: Thursday, March 26 at 10:05 p.m. ET
Where: Toyota Center, Houston (South Region)
    How to Watch: TBS/truTV
    Betting Line: Houston -3.5, OVER/UNDER 140.5

This is a home game for Houston after the Cougars looked dominant in their two blowout victories in Oklahoma City. The Cougars are appearing in their seventh straight Sweet 16 and looking for their eighth Final Four appearance, the most of any team without a national title. Standing in their way is the tallest team in the nation. Illinois has the second-most efficient offense in the country going against Houston’s fourth-ranked defense. Both teams have plenty of experience, but the two best players will be freshman guards: Houston’s Kingston Flemings and Illinois’ Keaton Wagler. Flemings is a driver and mid-range pull-up shooter, while Wagler is shooting 40% from 3 and loves to finish around the rim. Houston is my pick.

  • Buccaneers Star LB Lavonte David Announces Retirement From NFL After 14 Seasons

Buccaneers Star LB Lavonte David Announces Retirement From NFL After 14 Seasons

Lavonte David is retiring after playing all 14 seasons of his NFL career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

David made the announcement Tuesday at the team’s practice facility.

“I feel it’s time to move on and find a different path in life, be a dad to that amazing little girl over there,” David said. “Having a girl helped me become a man, helped me understand what’s important in life.”

The 36-year-old linebacker was the heart and soul of Tampa Bay’s defense, helping the Buccaneers win a Super Bowl by dominating Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9 on Feb. 7, 2021.

David is one of only five players in the past 35 seasons with 40 or more sacks and 35 or more takeaways. Hall of Famers Jason Taylor, Junior Seau, Ray Lewis and Brian Urlacher are the other four.

David finished tied with Hall of Famer Derrick Brooks for the most tackles (1,714) in franchise history, according to team stats. David is the franchise record holder in forced fumbles (33) and fumble recoveries (21), third in games played (215) and games started (215) and fifth in sacks (42 1/2). Additionally, David holds the franchise playoff records for total tackles (79) and solo tackles (57).

“Lavonte’s mark on our franchise could never be overstated,” Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht said. “For the entirety of his 14-year career, Lavonte set the standard for professionalism, leadership and consistency. He embodies everything that it means to be a Tampa Bay Buccaneer and he is undoubtedly one of the best players to ever put on this uniform. His contributions to our franchise, to his teammates and to this community will leave an impact far beyond his playing years.”

A second-round pick out of Nebraska in 2012, David was a first-team All-Pro in 2013 and made the second team in 2016 and 2020. He made the Pro Bowl in 2015 and missed just 14 games in 14 years.

David choked up talking about his parents and the sacrifices they made for him and his siblings, saying his dad would take him to practice on a bicycle because his mom needed the family car for work.

He said he almost quit football when his mother passed away in 2016.

“The day she passed away, I thought I lost it all,” David said. “Luckily, I had friends and family by my side.”

The Buccaneers signed veteran linebackers Alex Anzalone and Christian Rozeboom in free agency, providing depth in advance of David’s departure.

David’s decision marks the end of another era in Tampa Bay. Six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Mike Evans left the Buccaneers after 12 seasons, signing with the San Francisco 49ers in free agency.

Both David and Evans were fan and coach favorites, team leaders and staples in the community throughout their tenure with the team.

Several of his teammates and members of the organization filled the auditorium for David’s announcement.

“For the past 14 seasons, Lavonte David has personified what it means to be a Tampa Bay Buccaneer. He was a selfless leader both on and off the field, playing with passion and a genuine love for the game. He leaves a legacy as a Super Bowl champion and one of the greatest players in franchise history, setting a standard that will continue to impact our organization for years to come,” The Glazer Family, owners of the Buccaneers, said in a statement. “Today, we celebrate Lavonte’s legendary career as one of the most accomplished players of his era and thank him for the many memorable moments he provided our fans. Beyond the statistics and accolades, he will be remembered throughout Tampa Bay for his humble demeanor and strong commitment to our community. We wish him well on his journey after football and look forward to honoring his Hall of Fame-worthy achievements in the near future.”

  • NASCAR Power Rankings: Many Changes But Not At The Top

NASCAR Power Rankings: Many Changes But Not At The Top

Tyler Reddick left no doubt about who should be atop these rankings as he earned his fourth victory of the season Sunday at Darlington Raceway.

The rest of the rankings? Those are tough, as only three other drivers have four top-10 finishes in the first six races.

So it’s pretty subjective, and my social feeds would say they are pretty debatable.

Here are my rankings after Darlington and heading into this weekend’s race at Martinsville.

Dropped out: Chris Buescher (Last Week: 10)

On the verge: Chase Briscoe, Chris Buescher, Austin Cindric, Ryan Preece, Daniel Suarez, Shane van Gisbergen

    10. Kyle Larson (Last Week: 7)

Larson had something break late in the race, and he finished 32nd at Darlington. That was after he had led 20 laps earlier in the day. It was a disappointing finish for the defending Cup champion.

    9. Brad Keselowski (Last Week: Not Ranked)

Keselowski led a race-high 142 laps and finished second at Darlington. The RFK Racing driver and co-owner was the best of the rest behind Reddick, who had to rally after lengthy pit stops to replace his battery because of a charging issue.

    8. Chase Elliott (Last Week: 6)

Elliott finished 15th after running long before pitting in the second stage cost him some track position. The Hendrick driver still sits fifth in the standings.

    7. Bubba Wallace (Last Week: 9)

Wallace got collected in a wreck but he qualified on the front row and that’s a sign that he has the speed. The 23XI Racing driver is third in the standings but still seeks his first top-five of the season.

    6. William Byron (Last Week: 8)

Byron was the top Hendrick driver with an eighth-place finish at Darlington. It was Byron’s third consecutive top-10 finish after starting the year with three finishes outside the top 10.

    5. Christopher Bell (Last Week: 3)

Bell started 22nd and finished 19th in what was pretty much a forgettable day for the Joe Gibbs Racing driver. If he has a similar day at Martinsville (not likely), he should be a little worried.

    4. Ty Gibbs (Last Week: 5)

Gibbs placed sixth after posting three consecutive top-five finishes. Knock on the door like that, and the JGR driver should earn his first career win relatively soon.

    3. Denny Hamlin (Last Week: 2)

Hamlin had damage after contact with Erik Jones and finished 11th at Darlington. But he entered Darlington coming off a win and now heads to one of his best tracks at Martinsville.

    2. Ryan Blaney (Last Week: 4)

Blaney finished third after rallying from the rear of the field because of a loose wheel that required him to pit in a Penske teammate’s pit box. He might have been third even if that didn’t happen, but he doesn’t need the frustration for sure.

    1. Tyler Reddick (Last Week: 1)

Four wins in a season would be considered a great season. The 23XI Racing driver has four wins in six races. It’s going to take a string of strong runs — or a string of bad runs by Reddick — for someone to topple him.

2026 MLB Division Winner Odds: Dodgers, Mariners Favored to Repeat

Only two MLB division winners from last season are expected to repeat this season, meaning parity is alive and well in baseball.

Let’s check out the division winner odds at DraftKings Sportsbook as of March 24, as well as what to know about each division.

This page may contain affiliate links to legal sports betting partners. If you sign up or place a wager, FOX Sports may be compensated. Read more about Sports Betting on FOX Sports.

    NL WEST

Dodgers: -650 (bet $10 to win $11.54 total)
Padres: +900 (bet $10 to win $100 total)
Giants: +1700 (bet $10 to win $180 total)
Diamondbacks: +2200 (bet $10 to win $230 total)
Rockies: +30000 (bet $10 to win $3,010 total)

What to know: It’s the Dodgers’ to lose again. L.A. has won four straight and 12 of the last 13. The last time a different team won the NL West was in 2021, when the Giants took the division … before losing to the Dodgers in the NL Divisional Round.

    NL EAST

Mets: +140 (bet $10 to win $24 total)
Phillies: +175 (bet $10 to win $27.50 total)
Braves: +250 (bet $10 to win $35 total)
Marlins: +4000 (bet $10 to win $410 total)
Nationals: +10000 (bet $10 to win $1,010 total)

What to know: The Mets last won the division in 2015, and that same year, they lost in the World Series to the Royals. The Braves won six straight from 2018-2023, before the Phillies won it in 2024 and 2025. Each of the last four NL East winners have lost their first postseason series, and are a combined 4-12 in those series.

    NL CENTRAL

Cubs: +110 (bet $10 to win $21 total)
Brewers: +235 (bet $10 to win $33.50 total)
Reds: +550 (bet $10 to win $65 total)
Pirates: +600 (bet $10 to win $70 total)
Cardinals: +2800 (bet $10 to win $290 total)

What to know: Milwaukee has won four of the last five, and the Cubs last won it in 2020. The Brewers defeated the Cubs in the NLDS last season before losing to the Dodgers in the NLCS. It stands as Milwaukee’s only postseason series win during that span of four division titles in five years.

    AL WEST

Mariners: +100 (bet $10 to win $20 total)
Astros: +250 (bet $10 to win $35 total)
Rangers: +340 (bet $10 to win $44 total)
Athletics: +1300 (bet $10 to win $140 total)
Angels: +4000 (bet $10 to win $410 total)

What to know: The Mariners will look to make it two straight, having captured their first division title since 2001 in 2025. The winner of the AL West has won at least one playoff series every year dating back to 2017, with the exception of 2024. Houston has won seven of the last nine AL West titles.

    AL EAST

Yankees: +180 (bet $10 to win $28 total)
Blue Jays: +250 (bet $10 to win $35 total)
Red Sox: +320 (bet $10 to win $42 total)
Orioles: +425 (bet $10 to win $52.50 total)
Rays: +2500 (bet $10 to win $260 total)

What to know: Parity has been the theme in this division over the last 20 years. Since 2006, the Yankees have won the division seven times, the Red Sox five times, the Rays four times, the Jays twice and the Orioles twice. The last two AL East winners, and four of the last eight, have made it to the World Series, where each has faced the Dodgers. L.A. is 3-1 in those series, with Boston winning in 2018.

    AL CENTRAL

Tigers: +110 (bet $10 to win $21 total)
Royals: +225 (bet $10 to win $32.50 total)
Guardians: +425 (bet $10 to win $52.50 total)
Twins: +900 (bet $10 to win $100 total)
White Sox: +3500 (bet $10 to win $360 total)

What to know: The Guardians have won three of the last four and six of the last 10. The Tigers haven’t won it since 2014, and won four straight from 2011 to 2014. The AL Central represented the American League in the World Series in both 2015 and 2016.

  • Dan Hurley Can’t Help But Look Past MSU to a St. John’s Rematch in Elite Eight

Dan Hurley Can’t Help But Look Past MSU to a St. John’s Rematch in Elite Eight

The warning comes from about every coach, every player each March — heck, in any sport as the stakes are raised as the games carry more gravitas — don’t look too far ahead.

Worry about the next practice, the next game, not what could happen down the road.

    Then there’s Dan Hurley.

The two-time national champion UConn coach seems to be reinforcing his classic brash ways by sharing his focus for Friday’s Sweet 16 game in the NCAA Tournament against Michigan State with the prospects of an Elite Eight matchup against St. John’s.

Just like any East Coast fan or gambler who filled out a bracket this season, Hurley can’t help but follow the lines in the East Regional and see what a Huskies’ win against Tom Izzo’s team could get them — a rematch in Washington with two-time reigning Big East season and tournament champions, St. John’s.

Coach Rick Pitino has the tougher task between Hurley and his Big East rivals — at least on paper — in getting the Red Storm past top-seeded Duke.

[MEN’S BRACKET: NCAA Tournament Bracket, Leaders & Stats]

Hurley, though, has a plea — the fanbases need to rally together for one night and root for their rivals so there is a chance for a fourth game this season between the schools, this time with a spot in the Final Four at stake.

“It will be a live building. It’s probably a little bit early, but obviously, I think we’ve got to support each other,” Hurley said. “It’s pretty brutal on Twitter, I think, and socials between our fan bases, but I think we have to try to come together Friday night against our opponent so we can have a bloodbath on Sunday.”

Hurley noted “it stinks a little bit” that two conference teams are set to potentially play in the regional final rather than in a Final Four.

St. John’s took two of three meetings this season against UConn, the second being a 20-point win in the Big East Tournament title game. The Feb. 25 blowout loss at UConn stands as St. John’s lone setback since standing at 9-5 as of Jan. 3, with the Red Storm beating Northern Iowa and Kansas in the tournament.

UConn started 22-1 but closed the regular season on a 7-4 stretch, a pedestrian record for a program that won consecutive national championships in 2023 and 2024. The Huskies rebounded with wins over Furman and UCLA in first- and second-round games last weekend in Philadelphia to reach their 17th Sweet 16.

(The Huskies beat Michigan State in an exhibition game in late October.)

The last time that St. John’s and UConn faced off, it resulted in the Red Storm becoming back-to-back Big East champs. (Photo by Ishika Samant/Getty Images)

Maybe it was playing in the East Coast that stirred up questions and comments about a St. John’s-UConn showdown before it could even happen. Duke is a comfortable 6.5-point favorite to beat fifth-seeded St. John’s while the Huskies are just 1.5-point favorites to beat Michigan State, per BetMGM Sportsbook.

If both Big East teams win, look out, the home of the Wizards and Capitals could look and sound a bit like Madison Square Garden in conference tourney time.

“I think it speaks to the quality of what us and St. John’s are this year,” Hurley said. “I think they’re a great team. I think we’re a great team. I think it was much needed.”

Winning two games in the NCAA Tournament were much needed for UConn a year after it was bounced by Florida in the second round.

The Gators would win the national championship — yet there’s no repeat this season after they were bounced by Iowa.

[NCAA ODDS: Latest Men’s March Madness Odds, Favorites]

The Huskies are back in their proper spot among college basketball’s hierarchy.

They can thank Tarris Reed Jr. and Alex Karaban for getting the Huskies back to the Sweet 16.

Reed had 31 points and 27 rebounds, the kind of sensational stat line not seen in the NCAA Tournament in nearly 60 years, in the opener against Furman. Karaban scored a career-high 27 points in the second round against UCLA.

Karaban is a fourth-year senior in a career spent all at UConn — a rarity in today’s instant transfer, greater riches game — and a third national title would rank him with the players of John Wooden’s UCLA heyday in the rarified air of players with three rings.

“I think he can just take us wherever we need to go,” UConn guard Braylon Mullins said. “We all have the confidence with him and he’s our leader. We all look up to him. He holds the standard with this program.”

The Huskies hope they’ll be closer to full strength in the Sweet 16.

Silas Demary Jr., a first team All-Big East selection, returned to the lineup against UCLA and played 22 minutes after he sustained an ankle injury in the Big East Tournament. Jaylin Stewart again sat out both tournament games with a knee injury that’s sidelined him since late February.

The deeper the Huskies, the better shot they have at going deep in the tournament — and maybe get that date with Pitino and St. John’s.

    American League MVP

Aaron Judge: +215 (bet $10 to win $31.50 total)
Bobby Witt Jr.: +500 (bet $10 to win $60 total)
Cal Raleigh: +1100 (bet $10 to win $120 total)
Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: +1300 (bet $10 to win $140 total)
Roman Anthony: +1400 (bet $10 to win $150 total)

Gunnar Henderson: +1500 (bet $10 to win $160 total)
Jose Ramirez: +1600 (bet $10 to win $170 total)

What to know: Last year’s race was as close as it gets between Aaron Judge and Cal Raleigh, with Judge receiving 17 first-place votes and Raleigh receiving 13. In the end, it was Judge winning his third AL MVP in four years, with him and Shohei Ohtani both repeating in their respective leagues. While Raleigh led the majors in home runs and the AL in RBIs, Judge led MLB in WAR, batting average, on-base percentage, slugging and OPS. Judge’s three MVP awards are tied with a host of MLB legends for the third-most all-time, including Yankee icons Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio and Yogi Berra.

What to know: Ohtani will look to make more history via the MVP award this season. Two seasons ago, Ohtani became the first player in league history to record 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases. Then last season, he became the first player in league history to hit 50 home runs and record 50 strikeouts. With that, he won back-to-back NL MVP awards for the first time since Albert Pujols did it in 2008 and 2009. He won the AL MVP in 2023 and NL MVP in 2024, making him the first player in MLB history to win MVP back-to-back in each league. This year, if Ohtani is to win NL MVP, he will make a dent in Barry Bonds’ record of four straight MVP wins (2001-2004). All four of Ohtani’s MVP wins have been unanimous, with him receiving all 30 first-place votes. He has the second-most MVPs in history, trailing only Bonds’ seven.

    FanDuel Profit Boost Tokens

A profit boost token is a coupon you apply to a qualifying bet to increase your winnings by a set percentage (for example, 30%, 50%, or 100%). It does not change your stake, your odds on the slip, or your risk. They are similar to Odds Boosts, but Odds Boosts are pre-selected by FanDuel on specific bets, while profit boosts let you choose the wager within stated limits (eligible sports/markets, minimum odds, and a max stake cap). These tokens are usually tied to a particular event, league, or bet type and are time sensitive, so they expire if not used by the listed deadline.

Example: You receive a 50% profit boost for NFL straight bets. You place $25 at +200. Normally, profit would be $50. With the 50% boost, FanDuel adds $25 extra profit, so your total return is $25 stake + $75 profit = $100.

How Does the FanDuel Sign-Up Offer Compare to the Competition?

To stay competitive, FanDuel is currently offering more in bonus bets than competitors like DraftKings and bet365. Unlike DraftKings and bet365, FanDuel’s bonus bet only qualifies if your first bet wins. That being said, there’s no odds limit so you can bet on as heavy of a favorite as you want. bet365 requires one wager have odds of -500 or greater (still a pretty easy bet). FanDuel’s offer is still larger than 365’s. The low $5 minimum bet makes it beginner-friendly.

    FanDuel Sportsbook Review 2026

FanDuel has set the standard for online sports betting in the U.S. Its combination of an easy-to-use platform, deep market coverage and innovative features makes it the go-to choice for millions of bettors. In this section, we’ll break down the key areas that matter most when evaluating a sportsbook.

    • Desktop User Experience & Interface – The web platform is clean, fast and intuitive, making it easy to find games, odds and promos.
    • Betslip – Simple, making single bets, parlays and SGPs easy, much better than a popup.
    • Mobile App – Gold standard for US Sportsbooks. Fast, reliable, well-designed. Biometric login (Face ID / Touch ID), dark mode and geolocation tools for legal state access.
    • Market Depth – Covers every major U.S. league and a wide range of international sports.
    • Betting Tools & Innovation – In March 2025, FanDuel launched the first AI sports betting chat experience. It also has Bet Back Tokens, Bet Your Bracket and Real Time Check-In.
    • Live Betting – One of the best in the industry, with advanced game tracking and visuals, live stats in the game tracker and play-by-play summaries
    • Promotions – Frequent boosts, parlay incentives, and seasonal offers keep existing users engaged, while new promotions, such as the ‘bet $5, get $100 in bonus bets if your bet wins,’ are perfect for first-time users looking to scratch the betting surface.
    • Banking & Withdrawals – Multiple deposit/withdrawal methods with fast processing times
    • Trust & Support – Licensed in every legal state, strong reputation for security, and responsive customer service via chat and email.

FanDuel Desktop User Experience & Interface

The UX & interface is truly one of FanDuel’s top selling points. It’s hard to quantify but they may be the best. Fast and intuitive are the two words that come to mind when describing the experience.

    FanDuel Betslip

FanDuel’s betslip stands out thanks to its top-tier Same Game Parlay builder, which makes it easy to customize wagers. You can add markets from anywhere in the app, and they’ll automatically populate in the betslip—streamlining the process without relying on clunky popups. The design is widely praised for convenience and functionality, though some desktop users note that the betslip can take up a bit too much screen space.

    FanDuel Mobile App Experience

    Platform App Store Rating
    iOS 4.9 / 5
    Android 4.6 / 5

    • FanDuel is pretty much the gold standard for US Sportsbooks. Fast, reliable, well-designed.
    • Biometric login (Face ID / Touch ID), dark mode, and geolocation tools for legal state access.
    • Push notifications for odds boosts, bet tracking, and personalized promos.

    Market Depth & Betting Options

FanDuel is recognized for its market depth, with betting options that stretch across every major sport as well as niche events. Standard spreads, moneylines, and totals are available for all games, complemented by a wide range of player props and creative specials. Bettors can explore both mainstream and alternative markets:

Sports You Can Bet On With FanDuel:

Key Events You Can Bet On With FanDuel:

Every game mentioned above has standard spread, moneyline, totals, and a wide variety of player props you can bet on. But the platform doesn’t stop with the major leagues, as it also features odds on entertainment and alternative markets such as the Oscars, eSports, lacrosse, and table tennis. This breadth of coverage helps explain why FanDuel frequently appears in roundups of the best NFL betting sites and top sportsbooks in the U.S.

    Betting Features & Innovation

FanDuel is #1 for a reason; they’re constantly pushing the envelope. In March 2025, they launched the first AI sports betting chat experience.

    Bet Back Tokens

    • FanDuel’s new Bet Back Token is a handy “bail-out” option when a wager starts going sideways. If a parlay leg tanks, a key player gets hurt, or your team is getting blown out late, you can apply the token right up to the final whistle and swap your stake for Bonus Bets on the spot. The refund arrives instantly in Bonus Bets, up to your offer’s cap, so you can jump back into the action.

    Bet Your Bracket

    • For college hoops, FanDuel lets you Bet Your Bracket by bundling bracket-style predictions into a single parlay—think a team to reach the Sweet 16, win its region, and cut down the nets. Exclusive to FanDuel, this is the first time you can build parlays that span multiple rounds of the tournament, turning your bracket picks into one bet.

    Real Time Check-In

    • If you try to deposit an amount that’s out of step with your usual pattern, Real-Time Check-In prompts a quick review. You’ll have the option to lower the deposit, set a limit, and use the My Spend tool to look over recent activity and keep things in control.

    FanDuel Live Betting

FanDuel shines here, and it might be the best in the business. Its advanced game tracker pairs crisp visuals with real-time context, making it a perfect companion while you watch. You get live stats inside the tracker along with clear play-by-play summaries, so it’s easy to follow momentum and key moments. The result is a second-screen experience that actually helps you make smarter in-game decisions.

    FanDuel Promotions

    BetMGM Promotions for Existing Customers

While BetMGM’s welcome bonus is the main draw for new players, the sportsbook doesn’t stop there. Existing customers can take advantage of a steady rotation of promotions designed to keep the betting experience fresh, rewarding, and engaging.

    BetMGM Promo Description
⚾️ Big Fly Fridays Make a $10+ MLB HR bet, win a share of $50,000 in bonus bets.
⚾️ Baseball Bet Fest Leaderboard Compete for a share of $100,000 in prizes
🏈🏀⚾️Any Sport No Sweat Bet Token Get a refund in bonus bets if the selected wager loses.
⚽️ EPL Early Payout English Premier League bets pay out early if your team leads by two goals.
🦁 Lion’s Boosts Pre-made parlays with enhanced odds (rotating daily).

    BetMGM Lion’s Boost Promos

One of BetMGM’s signature offers for existing customers is the Lion’s Boost, which serves as the sportsbook’s version of enhanced odds. These promos take pre-selected bets or parlays and raise the payout odds—for example, a line that originally sat at +160 might be boosted to +200. Lion’s Boosts are typically offered daily and often spotlight major matchups like NFL Sundays, NBA playoff games, or Premier League soccer.

Most boosts feature single bets (such as “LeBron to score 25+ points”) or parlays that BetMGM curates, meaning you can’t customize them yourself. Unlike some competing sportsbooks, BetMGM doesn’t usually place strict max-stake limits, but the selection is narrower compared to the frequent profit boosts you’ll find on FanDuel or DraftKings. These promos can still provide value, but it’s worth remembering that sportsbooks design the boosted parlays with their own edge in mind—so approach them with cautious optimism.

    BetMGM Sportsbook Review 2026

BetMGM has grown into a dependable, feature-rich book that balances market depth with a familiar, casino-backed brand. If you want an app that’s easy to learn yet powerful enough for live betting and parlays, BetMGM fits the bill.

    • User Experience & Interface: Navigation is straightforward: sports → game → markets, with a clear betslip and quick toggles for parlays and props. Odds and boosts are easy to spot, and “My Bets” is well organized.
    • Mobile App Performance: Day-to-day performance is smooth with quick bet acceptance. During peak windows (NFL Sundays), it’s solid, though not quite the fastest in the category.
    • Market Depth: Excellent coverage across major and niche leagues, plus robust player props and alternate lines. Same-game parlay menus are deep for football, basketball, and baseball.
    • Betting Tools & Innovation: “Edit My Bet” lets you add, remove, or swap legs on eligible tickets. Cash Out is widely available, and the SGP builder makes multi-leg construction simple.
    • Live Betting: Large in-play menus with fast updates and reliable Cash Out. Streams are available on select sports (notably tennis, soccer, and horse racing), and live stats/scoreboards are easy to follow.
    • Promotions: Frequent profit boosts and featured SGP offers. The welcome typically takes the form of a first-bet safety net for new users, with rotating event-based promos during peak seasons.
    • Banking & Withdrawals: Plenty of options— online banking/ACH, debit card, PayPal, Venmo, Play+, and cash at partner casino cages (where available). Deposits are instant; most withdrawals clear in 1–5 business days depending on method.
    • Trust & Support: Licensed in numerous U.S. jurisdictions and backed by MGM Resorts. Strong responsible-gaming tools (limits, time-outs, self-exclusion) and responsive 24/7 help via live chat and email.

    BetMGM User Experience & Interface

BetMGM’s sportsbook has a sleek, easy-to-use interface with straightforward navigation, quick links to major sports, trending markets, and promos.

Menus are clear, though they can feel a bit busier than DraftKings or FanDuel, and personalization helps via a Favorites tab for saving preferred sports and markets. Markets update quickly and the live field view with stat trackers makes in-game wagering smoother.

If you’re in a state with online casino or poker, the one-account, one-wallet setup keeps everything seamless. Overall, BetMGM is a polished, well-equipped all-around book that’s a smart choice for both new and experienced bettors.

    BetMGM Mobile App Review

BetMGM’s app is available on iOS and Android, holds strong ratings, and has been downloaded by millions. It’s easy to use: menus are responsive, markets load quickly, and the bet slip is intuitive. The layout packs more markets onto a single screen, which power users love, though some may prefer the cleaner look of rivals. Mobile features include One Game Parlays, a flexible Parlay Builder, and BetMGM’s “Edit My Bet,” all optimized for small screens. You also get Face ID/Touch ID login, dark mode, and geolocation that serves legal, state-specific odds and promos, plus push notifications for odds boosts, results, and new offers.

    Platform App Store Rating
    iOS 4.8 / 5
    Android 4.2 / 5

BetMGM Sportsbook App Market Depth & Betting Options

BetMGM has built a reputation as one of the deepest and most versatile sportsbooks in the U.S., covering every major league and event while also branching into niche markets. The app makes it easy to browse odds across a wide variety of sports, with market depth that consistently stacks up well against competitors.

Sports You Can Bet On With BetMGM:

    BetMGM Bet Types

Key Events You Can Bet On With BetMGM:

Compared to Caesars and PointsBet, BetMGM offers more props and futures markets, giving bettors extra flexibility in how they play. While FanDuel and DraftKings may lead the way in Same Game Parlay user experience, BetMGM keeps pace with its wide-ranging markets and unique Lion’s Boost promotions. For international soccer, BetMGM provides coverage that rivals bet365, making it a strong choice for bettors looking for both domestic and global action.

    Betting Features & Innovation

Below are some key features the BetMGM app features:

    Key features:

    • Edit My Bet – lets you change, swap, or add legs to open wagers (rare compared to competitors).
    • Cash Out – settle bets early to lock in profits.
    • One Game Parlays (OGPs) – available across NFL, NBA, soccer, and more.
    • Live Streaming – select sports/events available inside the app.
    • Early Cashout Notifications – push alerts prompt users when there’s a cash-out.

FanDuel wins on Same Game Parlays and DraftKings leans into analytics, but BetMGM sets itself apart with flexibility and control tools.

    BetMGM Live Betting

BetMGM’s live betting platform is rock solid, with real-time odds across the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, college sports, soccer, tennis, and more. Props and alternate lines update instantly, global depth is a strength (think international soccer and tennis), and the UX is smooth with minimal lag, live stats/scoreboards, and occasional live streaming. On mobile, in-play betting is equally strong for on-the-go wagers, with cash out available during games and the ability to build live one-game parlays (OGPs). Overall, BetMGM wins on the depth of its live markets and its streaming integration.

    BetMGM Promotions

BetMGM runs a rotating lineup of promos and loyalty perks:

    • Expect Lion’s Boosts (daily odds boosts).
    • Occasional Bet & Get offers (for example, “Bet $10 on NFL, Get $50 in bonus bets”).
    • Refer-a-Friend deal where both you and your friend receive $100 in bonus bets, plus Reward Multiplier Days that stack extra BetMGM Rewards points.

With BetMGM Rewards, every wager earns points you can redeem for bonus bets or MGM hotel and casino perks like rooms, dining, and entertainment. That real-world tie-in gives BetMGM an edge over books without a brick-and-mortar network.

BetMGM puts a strong emphasis on protecting its players, with built-in safeguards that help ensure a secure and responsible betting experience. The app uses verified payment methods and strict account verification (KYC) processes to keep accounts safe, while also offering a suite of responsible gambling tools. Players can set deposit and loss limits, schedule timeouts, or even self-exclude if they need a break.

The sportsbook is currently legal in 19 states plus Washington, D.C., with additional markets—such as Missouri—also recently being legalized. BetMGM also benefits from the reputation of its parent company, MGM Resorts International, one of the most trusted names in gaming and hospitality worldwide. For additional support, bettors can access an extensive help center that provides answers to common questions and connects players with customer service.

The platform also includes integrated stat hubs, game trackers, and frequent sport-specific profit boosts, giving users more tools to inform their wagers. Additionally, its integration with the DraftKings DFS platform creates unique cross-play opportunities for daily fantasy sports players.

    DraftKings Mobile App User Experience

DraftKings’ app is among the most polished in the industry, with a clean, intuitive interface that makes it easy to toggle between sports, promotions, and account settings. Its dark background with green highlights creates a professional, sportsbook-centric aesthetic, and the layout is logically organized with clear tabs and shortcuts.

Performance is consistently excellent — pages load quickly, odds refresh seamlessly, and navigation rarely stalls. The bet slip is simple to edit, allowing users to add, remove, and switch formats with ease.

Live betting is a standout, offering real-time odds updates and smooth transitions between markets. Integrated extras include quick-access stats, in-game scoreboards, and occasional streaming for select events.

One minor drawback is that the homepage can feel crowded with promos during major events, but overall DraftKings sets a high bar for usability.

Live betting functionality is comprehensive, with a wide range of markets, but odds updates can lag slightly during peak action. Integrated features include basic scoreboards and some stat overlays, though streaming is limited.

The main drawback is occasional sluggishness and a slightly less streamlined user flow.

FanDuel’s live betting interface is among the best, with rapid odds updates and fluid market switching. Extras like live scoreboards, in-game stat trackers, and selective streaming elevate the experience. The only notable limitation is occasional clutter in the promo carousel, which can push betting markets lower on the screen.

Extras like live scoreboards and in-game stats are present, but full streaming is still limited. The main drawback is that the app’s live market depth isn’t quite as extensive as more established operators.

    bet365 Highlights & Top Features

bet365 is known for offering one of the most complete betting platforms in the industry. The sportsbook features best-in-class live betting, with fast odds updates, hundreds of in-game markets, and some of the deepest alternate lines available for major sports. Users also benefit from integrated live streaming on select events, allowing bettors to watch games directly inside the app while placing wagers.

Other standout features include Cash Out and Auto Cash Out tools, which let bettors secure profits or limit losses before an event ends. bet365 also runs frequent promotions such as early-payout offers, odds boosts, and bet builder specials, giving users additional value across major leagues and events throughout the year.

    bet365 Mobile App User Experience

bet365’s navigation leans functional over flashy. Sports and markets are organized in a vertical list, which experienced bettors will find efficient, though newcomers may find it dense at first. Its green and yellow design is instantly recognizable, if somewhat utilitarian.

Performance is excellent — bet365 remains one of the fastest apps in the business, especially in live betting, where odds update almost instantaneously and market depth is unmatched. The bet slip is straightforward, supporting quick edits and multiple formats. Integrated extras are strong: bet365 offers extensive live scoreboards, in-game stats, and some of the best streaming coverage in the industry, often including lower-profile events. The biggest limitation is that its interface can feel overwhelming to casual users due to the sheer volume of markets and compact layout.

bet365 Banking: Deposits, Withdrawals, and Payout Speed

bet365 provides standard deposit options such as debit/credit cards, PayPal, online banking/ACH, PayNearMe, and Play+. Withdrawals can be made via PayPal, online banking, Play+, or checks. PayPal is generally the fastest method, often processed within 24 hours, while online banking can take 1–5 business days depending on the bank. bet365 supports instant PayPal withdrawals for eligible users, allowing near-immediate transfers after approval, which is a major plus for frequent bettors.

Popular Types of Sportsbook Offers for New Users

Sportsbooks have a handful of different offers to try and keep users on their apps. Bonus bets, deposit match bonuses, second-chance bets, no-sweat bets and first-best insurance are among those offers. Here’s a little more on each.

Bonus Bets (“Bet and Get” Offers)

Bonus bets are site credits awarded after you place a qualifying wager.

With DraftKings and bet365, you receive the bonus win or lose. With FanDuel, you receive the bonus only if your qualifying bet wins. Only the winnings from a bonus bet are withdrawable; the bonus stake is not.

These are best for new users with low risk tolerance or smaller bankrolls who want quick value from a small first wager. Sportsbooks offer them because they lower the entry barrier, get new bettors comfortable in the app, and create reasons to explore more markets with minimal upfront risk.

Below are some examples of this offer that have appeared throughout this guide:

DraftKings: Bet $5, Get $200 in bonus bets if your bet wins

bet365: Bet $10, Get $365 in bonus bets (win or lose).

    Deposit Match Bonus

A deposit match bonus is a common type of sportsbook welcome offer that rewards new users by matching their first deposit with bonus funds.

Typically, this is a one-time promotion, often structured as a 100% match up to a set amount — for example, “100% match up to $500.” So, if you deposit $500, the sportsbook will give you an additional $500 in bonus bets, effectively doubling your starting bankroll.

This type of offer is especially appealing to new users who plan to make a larger initial deposit, as the more you deposit (up to the limit), the more bonus funds you unlock. For sportsbooks, deposit match bonuses are a strategic way to incentivize bigger upfront deposits, encouraging users to commit more funds from the start.

    Second-Chance Bets, No-Sweat Bets, and First-Bet Insurance

In this promotion, sportsbooks will refund your first wager if it loses in bonus bets, acting as a safety net for an opening bet. This is best for new users who want to make a big higher-risk first wager. Let’s take a look at each.

Second-chance bets: your first wager is “insured” up to a stated cap (for example, $150, $500, or $1,000). If the bet loses, the refund is issued as bonus bets, not cash, typically within 24–72 hours and often split into tokens that expire in about 7 days. If the bet wins, no refund is given.

No-sweat bets: works the same way but usually tied to a specific event or day with a smaller cap (for example, $10–$100). A losing eligible wager is refunded as bonus bets, not cash, subject to expiry and other terms. A winning bet receives normal cash winnings and no refund.

First bet insurance: another name for the same “loss-refund” structure on your very first wager. The refund is capped and paid as bonus bets, not cash, and only if the first bet loses. Bonus-bet stakes are not returned on winning bonus-bet wagers, and minimum-odds and expiry rules apply.

    Sportsbook No Deposit Bonuses

A no deposit bonus is a rare type of sportsbook promotion that gives new users bonus bets or site credit without requiring any deposit. These offers are typically tied to special occasions, such as a new state launch or a major event, and are designed to let bettors try the platform risk-free. However, no deposit bonuses are very uncommon in today’s regulated U.S. market and usually come in low amounts, often just a few dollars in site credit.

Importantly, none of the reputable traditional sportsbooks featured on this page currently offer a no deposit bonus, making this type of promotion more of a special exception than a standard welcome offer. We do, however, occasionally see no deposit welcome bonuses for DFS apps.

Common Sportsbook Promotions for Existing Users

If you’re a longtime user of legal sportsbooks, there are also promotions for you, too. Let’s take a look at each of them.

    Odds Boosts & Profit Boosts

Odds boosts and profit boosts are exactly what they sound. For odds boosts, the odds are raised on select bets, increasing the potential payout. On profit boosts, your winnings get multiplied by a set percentage on eligible bets.

    • Odds Boost: Raises the odds on select bets, increasing potential payout.
    • Profit Boost: Multiplies your winnings by a set percentage on eligible bets.
    • Who is known for these: DK, FD, BetMGM, bet365

    Reload Bonus

For reload bonuses, existing users can get a certain percentage of their deposit matched up to a certain amount. This is for returning or dormant bettors, and also encourages re-engagment and repeat deposits for the sportsbook.

    Refer-a-Friend Bonus

It pays to get your friends involved in gambling. If a friend signs up for an account on a sportsbook through a referral link, your account can get rewarded with bonus bets or site credit. Let’s take a look at what each sportsbook offers with its refer-a-friend bonus.

Sportsbook Refer-a-Friend Bonus Referral action Max Referrals
BetMGM $100 Deposit $100+, wager $100 bonus 20 per month
    DraftKings $100 Deposit $25+ 5
FanDuel $75 Deposit and bet $10+ 5 every 30 days
Caesars 5,000 Reward Credits Deposit and bet $50+ 10
Fanatics Sportsbook $100 Deposit and bet $20+ 5
    bet365 $50 Deposit and bet $10+ 10 per year

    Loyalty and Rewards Programs

Loyalty and rewards programs give bettors ongoing value by allowing them to earn points for every wager they place, which can then be redeemed for bonus bets, perks, or merchandise.

These programs often feature multiple tiers, and as users climb to higher levels, they unlock extra benefits like faster withdrawal processing, exclusive VIP promos, personalized offers, and priority support.

Some sportsbooks focus purely on bonus bet redemptions, while others integrate unique perks — for example, Fanatics Sportsbook lets users exchange rewards (FanCash) for merchandise on the Fanatics store, blending retail and betting benefits in a way no other operator currently does.

These programs are ideal for regular bettors who want to maximize long-term value from their action.

    • DraftKings Dynasty Rewards– earn Crowns for every bet; redeem for bonus bets, DFS entries, or merchandise. Higher tiers offer enhanced perks.
    • FanDuel Rewards Program– points earned through betting can be redeemed for bonus bets; higher tiers unlock special promos and priority service.
    • BetMGM Rewards– integrated with MGM Resorts; points can be redeemed for bonus bets or hotel, dining, and entertainment perks at MGM properties.
    • bet365 Loyalty Program– rewards frequent bettors with points redeemable for bonus bets; program is straightforward but lower on flashy perks.
    • Caesars Rewards– tied to Caesars Entertainment’s broader program; points can be redeemed for bonus bets or used at hotels, restaurants, and casinos.
    • Fanatics FanCash– earn 2–5% back on wagers; can be redeemed for bonus bets or merchandise on Fanatics.com, making it the most retail-integrated rewards program.

    Sports Betting Contests and Tournaments

Sports betting contests and tournaments are competitive betting events where users place picks or wagers to climb leaderboards and compete for prizes such as bonus bets, cash, or merchandise. These contests can be free-to-play (often used as promotional tools) or paid entry, offering larger prize pools and more competitive formats.

Sportsbooks frequently tie these events to major sports seasons or marquee events — for example, NFL playoff pick’em challenges, March Madness bracket contests, or special promotions during the Super Bowl.

FanDuel and DraftKings are particularly well-known for their extensive contest offerings, drawing on their Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) roots to run large-scale tournaments with tiered leaderboards and substantial payouts.

These contests are a fun way for bettors to engage with the sportsbook beyond standard wagering, adding a social and competitive layer to the betting experience.

Common Sports Betting Promotion Terms & Conditions

Every sportsbook promotion comes with specific terms and conditions that govern who’s eligible, how payouts work, and how any bonus funds can be used. Understanding these rules is essential to avoid surprises and make the most of any offer. Here are some of the most common conditions you’ll see across sportsbooks:

    • Eligibility: most welcome offers are limited to new customers who are physically located in a legal sports betting state.
    • Minimum Deposit: the smallest amount required to qualify, usually $5–$20.
    • Minimum Bet: the minimum wager needed to trigger the promo, often matching the deposit threshold.
    • Odds Restrictions: many offers require the qualifying bet to be placed on odds of -150 or longer (e.g., +100, +150).
    • Wagering Requirements: you may need to play through bonus funds multiple times before you can withdraw winnings.
    • Win/Loss Requirement: some promos apply whether your bet wins or loses, while others (like “second-chance bets”) only activate if your qualifying wager loses.
    • Bonus Expiration: bonus funds typically expire within 7 days if not used.
    • Market Restrictions: certain promos are valid only for specific sports, markets, or bet types.
    • Payout Format: bonus bets themselves aren’t withdrawable — only winnings from bonus bets can be cashed out.

Before claiming any promotion, always read the full terms and conditions carefully so you understand exactly how the offer works and what’s required to unlock its value.

FAQs about Sportsbook Promos & Bonus Bets

Can I sign up for multiple welcome offers?

    • Yes, you can claim one welcome offer per sportsbook, and many bettors sign up with multiple sportsbooks to take advantage of different promotions. However, you can’t claim multiple new-user offers from the same sportsbook using the same personal information.

    What are bonus bets?

    • Bonus bets are promotional credits sportsbooks give you to wager with — not actual cash. If you win a bet placed with bonus bets, you typically receive only the winnings, not the original stake.

    Can I withdraw bonus bets?

    • No. Bonus bets themselves cannot be withdrawn. You can only cash out the winnings generated from those bonus bets, once any wagering requirements are met.

What are the most common sportsbook bonuses?

    • Bet & Get Offers– bet a set amount, receive bonus bets.
    • Deposit Match Bonuses– sportsbook matches your first deposit up to a limit.
    • First Bet Insurance– get your stake back (as bonus bets) if your first bet loses.
    • Odds Boosts & Profit Boosts– enhanced payouts on specific wagers.
    • Seasonal or Event Promos– tied to big games, tournaments, or launches.

    What is first bet insurance?

    • First bet insurance protects your first wager. If it loses, the sportsbook refunds your stake in bonus bets (sometimes up to $1,000 or more). If your first bet wins, you’re paid out normally.

What are “bet and get” offers?

    • A bet and get offer gives you bonus bets after placing a qualifying wager. For example, “Bet $5, Get $200” means you place a $5 bet, and regardless of the outcome, the sportsbook awards $200 in bonus bets.

Do you need a promo code for a sportsbook promo?

    • Sometimes. Some promotions are automatically applied when you sign up through a special link, while others require entering a promo code during registration or deposit. Always check the offer details to avoid missing out.

Where do I enter promo codes in the registration process?

    • Most sportsbooks provide a designated field for promo codes during account creation or the initial deposit step. If you forget to enter a code, some operators allow you to add it afterward in the “Promotions” or “Account” section — but not all, so it’s best to enter it up front.
