In Sursee LU etwa wurden Pflanzenschutzmittel mit dem Wirkstoff Chlorothalonil zum Problem. Die regionale Wasserversorgung musste acht Werke ausser Betrieb nehmen, insbesondere in Nottwil und Oberkirch. Seither werden die Gemeinden mit Wasser aus dem Sempachersee oder aus Emmen versorgt.
