Spaniards view Trump as bigger threat to world peace than Putin
The latest 40dB survey for newspaper El País and radio station Cadena SER reveals that Spanish citizens see Donald Trump as the greatest threat to world peace, slightly ahead of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
More specifically, 81 percent of respondents pointed to Trump compared to 79.3 percent who chose Putin, and 71.2 percent who cited Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu.
Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mukhta Khamenei (62.9 percent); North Korea’s Kim Jong-un (62.25 percent); and China’s Xi Jinping (49.3 percent) were also pinpointed as aggravators of global conflicts.

Ground staff strike causes luggage chaos at Barcelona airport
The first week of the Groundforce staff strike has left more than 2,000 pieces of luggage stranded at Barcelona-El Prat Airport, as part of stoppages that have caused flight delays and other problems at airports across Spain.
The strikes, which coincided with the Easter holidays in Spain, have also led to long queues at check-in counters of Barcelona’s Terminal 1, especially for flights operated by companies such as Lufthansa, Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways, which are served by Groundforce.
The strikes are indefinite and will therefore continue taking place unless a deal is reached, as in the case of the other stoppages called by workers at ground handling company Menzies.
Therefore, Groundforce strikes will continue every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday during various time slots: from 5:00 to 7:00, from 11:00 to 17:00, and from 22:00 to 00:00.
Spanish holidaymakers flee Spain to escape sky-high prices
Spaniards are increasingly choosing to travel outside of Spain rather than within their own country.
Several factors are contributing to this trend, but one of the main ones is that Spanish families are finding it increasingly difficult to cope with high accommodation prices.
However, hotels are achieving high occupancy rates thanks to the nearly 100 million foreign visitors who came to Spain annually in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
The latest data from Spain’s National Statistics Institute (INE) reveal that while domestic travel within Spain fell by 6 percent last year, international travel increased by 5 percent, partly due to the greater number of seats airlines are offering to and from Spanish airports.

Two people die from sudden cardiac arrest every hour in Spain
For the first time, scientific research has accurately quantified the incidence of sudden cardiac arrest in Spain.
On average, 47 people die suddenly every day in Spain because their heart stops.
Most are healthy, middle-aged patients with no prior heart problems and no symptoms before collapsing and dying. Only 10 percent survive.
