Where SWISS airline is flying in summer 2026

Despite a number of cancellations, the national airline, SWISS, is adding new destinations and increasing frequency of certain flights, in the coming months.

SWISS will launch two new European flights from Zurich.

One, starting on March 29th, will go to the Polish city of Poznan, where the airline will fly on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays.

The other new addition to the airline’s European route network is Rijeka on Croatia’s Adriatic coast, with two weekly flights – on Mondays and Fridays – during July and August.

Long-haul network

According to SWISS Chief Commercial Officer Heike Birlenbach, the airline will also fly soccer fans “daily or even several times a day” to FIFA World Cup sites in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and Miami.

From April 26th, five flights a week will also go to Toronto, another 2026 World Cup venue.

In all, SWISS will serve a total of 112 destinations from Zurich and Geneva in its 2026 summer schedule.

“Travellers from Zurich will be offered 70 European and 25 intercontinental destinations, while services from Geneva will extend to New York and 29 short-haul destinations,” Birlenbach said.

Changes due to logistics and politics

In March, the airline announced that it is cutting 326 of its flights until October 24th due the shortage of pilots and aircraft.

Therefore, frequency od the flight from Zurich to Chicago will be reduced from 14 to 12 weekly, and that from Zurich to Shanghai  will only fly three times a week instead of seven.

But that’s not all.

Due to the war in Iran. SWISS has had suspended these flights to the Middle East:

Dubai through May 31

Tel Aviv through May 31

Abu Dhabi through October 24

Amman through October 24

Beirut through October 24

Dammam through October 24

Riyadh through October 24

Erbil through October 24

Muscat through October 24

Tehran through October 24

But there is good news for other routes

Seventy-four additional flights will be put in service between May and September to various European destinations.

This expansion is made possible by freed-up capacity – that is, planes which don’t currently fly to the Middle East will be “deployed in a targeted manner on routes with strong demand,” the airline said.

In particular, the airline will increase operations to Málaga, Alicante, Stockholm, Athens, Malta, Porto, Palma de Mallorca, Palermo, Nice, Thessaloniki, and Venice.

The Iran conflict has also prompted the airline to increase its flights to India.

As the cancellation of scheduled flights to the Middle East is limiting access to Asia, SWISS is adding, from April 1st and until May 31st, another daily flight from Zurich to Delhi:

Regular flights (daily)

LX146: Zurich 12:10 pm – Delhi arrival 12:35 pm

LX147: Delhi 01:05 am – Zurich 6:20 am

Additional flights (daily)

LX2646: Zurich 7:35 pm – Delhi 7 am

LX2647: Delhi 8:40 am – Zurich: 2 pm
