Turkmenistan pushes for international energy cooperation

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 2. TTurkmenistan is
backing international efforts to ensure reliable, stable, and
diversified energy supplies, a top official said Thursday, Trend reports.

Nokerguly Atagulyev, Deputy Chairman of Turkmenistan’s Cabinet
of Ministers, made the comments during the second meeting of
government leaders and vice presidents of the Organization of
Turkic States (OTG) in Baku.

“We attach great importance to joint energy projects,
infrastructure development, and the interconnectedness of energy
markets,” Atagulyev said. “It is also important to consider the
interests of producers, transit countries, and consumers — this
principle underlies Turkmenistan’s energy policy.”

Atagulyev added that Turkmenistan is actively cooperating with
several Turkic states in the gas and energy sectors and is ready to
expand these partnerships.

“Joint projects contribute to strengthening economic ties and
ensuring regional and interregional energy security,” he said.
