10 events not to miss in Switzerland this June

From religious holidays and music festivals, to art exhibitions – these are some of the events scheduled to take place across Switzerland in June 2026.

‘Landmark of the Alps’, central Switzerland – June 1st

At an altitude of just 3,000 metres, on the site of an old telecom tower, a new marvel will be inaugurated in the Swiss Alps.

The Tiltis viewing platform, located on the border of the cantons of Obwalden and Bern, will offer open-air 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains and valleys below.

Corpus Christi – June 4th to June 7th

This is a holiday in predominantly Catholic cantons of Aargau, Lucerne, Uri, Schwyz, Obwalden, Nidwalden, Zug, Fribourg, Solothurn, Appenzell Innerrhoden, Ticino, Valais, and Jura.

It is celebrated with solemn church masses, religious processions, open-air altars, and costumes traditional to each of the cantons.

‘Sleepless night’, Locarno – June 13th

The Ticino city will stay awake on this night, kept awake by live music concerts, dance performances, street artists, as well as food stalls, which will enliven the squares in the old town, as well as in the city’s famous the Piazza Grande.

Tour de Suisse – June 15th to June 22nd

If you are not looking to break a sweat yourself while bicycling, but are in the mood for a sporting event nonetheless (as a spectator), you can join others at host cities across Switzerland for this year’s Tour de Suisse.

Street Food Festival, Interlaken – June 19th to June 21st

Over 45 stalls, themed bars and live music, will be located  ‘Untere Bönigstrasseunder ‘ – which this Bernese town describe as “the most beautiful tree canopy in Switzerland.”

“All food stands cook on site with fresh products and compete for your favor with tasting portions, as ready-made products are frowned upon in street food,” organisers said.

Bärner Stadtfescht (City Festival), Bern – June 19th to June 21st

Dozens of multi-genre international artists will perform during this three-day-long community celebration which takes place in the capital city’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, as well as other nearby areas.

You can see the detailed programme here.

Art Basel – June 19th to June 22nd

Like each year, Basel’s leading art fair will be held in the enormous Messe centre will be showcasing exhibitions from over 290 leading galleries and more than 4,000 artists from around the world.

Zurich Pride Festival — June 20th and June  21st

Zurich’s annual Pride Festival will be held once again in the city’s Kasernenareal and the Zeughaushof, and is open to everyone.

The festival sites can be reached from Zurich’s main station on foot in just under 10  minutes and entry to the event is free.

The highlight of every Zurich Pride Festival is the parade and concerts by national and international artists on the grounds.

Street Food Festival, Geneva — June 25th to June 26th

For the 10th edition this year, more than 60 food trucks and stands will serve local and other specialties.

There will also be a lineup of DJs, along with a large children’s playground and other attractions — all on the ground of Plainpalais.

Federal Yodel Festival, Basel, June 26th–28th

This annual, quintessentially Swiss festival will not only gather 10,000 participants, but also other typically ‘Swiss’ performance categories – alphorn music and traditional flag-throwing.

And this year it will be even more special, as it will be the first edition since yodelling was included on UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage list in December 2025.
