Looking for online classifieds to buy or sell second-hand items, find housing or local services in Spain? Here’s where you can look.
Craigslist is a classifieds website with pages for cities all over the world where people advertise everything from jobs and housing to second-hand furniture, people looking to make new connections, items wanted, local services and more.
According to Internet data company Similarweb, today Craigslist is still hugely popular and has over 105 million monthly users, making it the 40th most popular website in the United States.
The site was very popular with millennials between around 2005-2010 and many still use it today.
Unfortunately though, it doesn’t have as many monthly visits to its pages in the other countries around the world, so what are the alternatives in Spain?

Spain does in fact have several Craiglist sites such as in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, Málaga etc, but some of them are rarely used and the few ads they do have a quite old.
These sites are better options in Spain:
Milanuncios
Milanuncios is one of the top classified sites in Spain for selling second hand items, as well as finding jobs and places to live. You can search for everything here from second-hand cars and video games to fashion and sports equipment. Like Craigslist, it also has a section on local services and community.
While there aren’t different pages dedicated to different cities you can filter your search results so that you only see ads from your area.
The site was created in 2005 and has over 14.2 million online classifieds ads on the platform.

Wallapop
Another good option is Wallapop, which was founded in Barcelona in 2013. Today, it has taken over from Millanuncios as the most popular classifieds website in Spain, getting a lot more traffic.
Again, it’s mostly about selling second-hand items, although there are sections dedicated to housing and local services, so it’s similar to both Milanuncios and Craigslit in that aspect.
It doesn’t, however, have the social side such as community, forums or job classifieds.
There are sites dedicated to cities all over Spain, as well as the biggest cities, they have pages for Valladolid, Bilbao, Granada, Palma de Mallorca, Elche, Oviedo and more.
Locanto
While not as big as the first two, Locanto is in the top 10 sites of this kind in Spain. It’s used for for its free classifieds, including jobs, housing, services, community and classes, as well as selling. It was first started by a German company and is now found in cities across the world.
You can simply type your location into the box at the top and see what comes up in and around your area
Facebook Marketplace
While Facebook Marketplace is obviously not Spanish, it is used a lot here to sell unwanted items online. The site allows you to search according to area and number of km away from where you live.
The option arrived in Europe in 2017 and while it is popular, it’s nowhere near as big as the likes of Wallapop over here.
